The induction programme for SSMC Bangalore was a 7 days long event organized under the leadership of our director.
The students also got opportunity to interact with their seniors and they shared their experiences and also advised the junior group to make best use of all the resources available to them on campus.
On 11th and 12th an outbound activity was organised for the junior batch at Breakthrough. A thrilling experience woven with team building activities helped the students to build leadership skills and understand the importance of teamwork.
A lecture on introduction to Digital Marketing conducted by Mr.Himanshu Arora ,gave students insights of the social media , its workings and how to use digital marketing for the maximum benefit of the product.
Giving an overview of the TV and radio industry, Ms.Vasanthi Hariprakash shared her journey and how Radio can revolutionize the media industry.
Briefing about the importance of economics and its role in daily life, Mr Rasananda Panda conducted an informative and interactive session to introduce Economics and its basics.
Mr.Rasananda Panda gave an overview of the basics of marketing with 4Ps. He explained what is marketing and why it forms an integral part in a firm. Right from the evolution of marketing to its current status,he covered it all.
Riti’s Murder Games
A fun filled activity created on campus for the students ,made students put on their thinking caps and solve the case. It helped in building teamwork and learn about leadership skills.
On 16th July 2016 the Installation-Valar Dohaeris was held at SSMC-B with full enthusiasm, where the newly appointed student council, conveners and co-conveners took their oath will full valor, where they pledged to make the organization bigger and better. The new batch of 2016-2018 was introduced to the various clubs of SSMC-B.
Based on the theme of Game of Thrones “Valar Dohareis”, meaning all men must serve, the ceremony was inaugurated with lighting of the lamp and seeking the blessings of the almighty by Our Director, Deputy Director, Prof.Ketan Vaidya and the guests of honor Mr.Ankit Piplani and Mr.Oum Pradutt. The pace of the program was set by the performances by Aura and Pratibimb.
The event also had an engaging quiz conducted by club Quizza which left the audience high-spirited. An intriguing and motivating address by former student council president Miss.Sakshi Singh filled the auditorium with applause.

International Yoga Day 2016
Symbiosis Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence Development (SEED)-the entrepreneurship cell of SSMC-B was launched on July 8, 2016.
SEED aims to nurture an environment for creating an entrepreneurship culture in the campus and assisting budding entrepreneurs by providing them with necessary resources.
Ms. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, CEO, Biocon LTD, inaugurated SEED and delivered a keynote address on Entrepreneurship. She enlightened the students by sharing her journey on how she became an entrepreneur and her mantra for success.
She quoted “To me, Entrepreneurship is about taking the idea to the market and then shaping, validating and commercializing it.”
Mr. Shalabh Mittal CEO, School of Social Entrepreneurs India, Mr. Naveen Lakkur, Innovation coach, Strategic Consultant and Advisor, Mr. Samir Chaudhary, Founder Media Ant, Mr.Sanjay Anandram –Member Nasscom, TiE, IIM-Bangalore, and INSEAD business school, were the other speakers at the event, who helped kindle the flame of entrepreneurship in the minds of the students.
The students of SSMC B, attended the first thought leadership lecture from my CN R Rao. The lecture took place within the serine surroundings of JNCSR, we’re there were talks given about science being a bridge between mankind and the future, how intellectual property works in science also Prof Rao shared his journey and how here he is using various research facilities to be able to make a dent in the universe with the help of science. Dr Rao shared that science has infinitive prospects and with a team of over 156 students they want to make sure that science makes the lives of people easy fast and also acts as medium of future learning. The Sparks in his eyes made us realize that if you are passionate about something the world works with you.
The students of SSMC B welcomed Dr Rohan Murthy, the founder of the classical library of India, An Harvard passout he spoke to the students about how history is artifigated in today’s world and how we have to make sure that our rich cultural heritage remains intact. Everything is a round circle if you give something you also get something in return that how the world works. He shared his struggles of early days and how the classical library is a passion that has to be minted if the passion is not within then the whole world looks as a facade of opportunities that you have to break every day. The students were enthralled listening to his prefecture and perspective about how it someone is so passionate ads vivid colors to his life. A truly unique experience.
SSMC-B, was privileged to host Dr. Shashi Tharoor today as part of their thought leadership lecture series. Dr.Tharoor gave his valuable insights about topics likes Globalization, how he is not a full time politician, what India needs to do to be on the global map etc. Our beloved Director Prof. Vickramm V Sampath, shared his story that, “he was waiting to share the stage with Dr.Tharoor for the last 4 years and finally at Symbiosis it has become a reality”.
The Question & Answer session enthralled the audience with few lucky students getting the coveted opportunity. As the sun sets today & bid the day today , lets end with Dr.Tharoor Quote ‘ I want the best for my country , in whatever Capacity I am capable , India is rising & would continue to Rise’.
